Elbow, Wrist, and Hand Issues
As soon as we get up in the morning, our hands and arms are in use. We turn off the alarm, brush our teeth, get dressed, all with our hands and arms. When we injure one of our wrists, hands, or elbows, our ability to function is greatly inhibited. Imagine not being able to bend your elbows while washing your hair or trying to eat – and these are just some of the tasks you have to accomplish before really starting your day! Hand and wrist injuries can very often be alleviated without medication or surgery. Hand and wrist injuries happen frequently largely due to the frequency with which we use them combined with the intricacy and complexity of the joints. There are actually 27 bones in each hand, providing for range of motion and dexterity unequaled anywhere. When your hands, wrists, or elbows hurt, it’s important to alleviate the pain and fix the problem. Fortunately, physical therapy can fix most problems.
