Vestibular Therapy and Your Equilibrium

Your inner ear is a complex system of nerves, canals and fluids which work together to both enable hearing, and keep your balance.  The “vestibule” connects to these canals, which are filled with fluid, and are responsible for constantly measuring and sending data to your brain regarding your orientation.  When this system fails to function properly, your body can experience dizziness, inability to focus, and loss of balance.   

When you come to H/S Physical Therapy for issues like dizziness and vertigo, we evaluate many factors which can affect your balance.  One of those factors is your inner ear.  We can work with you on many levels to begin allowing the inner ear to function properly again.  In many cases we can help reverse your equilibrium issues.
